In other words, what is the function of this chapter? Please create an organized topic sentence and provide one or two quotations as proof of your claim (there is no right or wrong argument, only ones that are stronger or weaker). Create a strong argument!

- Read to page 151 in the text, and pay particular attention to the developing symbols of light and dark...
- For those of you who did not, for whatever reason, turn in your short story (plus old drafts, the illustrations and the worksheet completed), PLEASE DO SO ASAP! (Of course, some of you have been excused until Monday, in which case, I look forward to reading your stories on Monday!)

- Your quotation test is Friday. The best way to study is by reviewing the quotations we've discussed at length in class and review the themes/main ideas that we discussed as well. Please come in to tutorials on Thursday if you would like to review together.
8th Grade:
- Please read to page 185 before class (carefully!). I know this is a confusing bit of text, but it is your responsibility to read it carefully and to come see before class with any questions.
