6th: Please read actively from _Out of the Dust_ (remember: "actively" means marking in your text when you find examples the literary terms we have been discussing: alliteration, strong imagery, metaphors, similes, personfication,etc.). 7/8th Grade: PLease work 40 minutes on organizing your research notecards into topics for the "Institutions" research paper. Remember to bring all research materials to class as we will have time to work on the outline together (and the outline is due Monday!). Three paragraphs of rough draft are due, typed, double-spaced. Also, keep in mind that you will have an open-note quiz on the lecture covering Russia from 1900s--1953 (Stalin's death). Please see me if you have any questions.

Spring Break work!

7/8th: You MAY (hint, hint) get started on your Research Paper outlines (which I handed out in class on Wednesday). Keep in mind, however, that they are not due until April the 6th.

9/10th: You will be required to turn in your completed essay outline for your 19th Century (Russian) short story essay at the start of class on Monday. We will begin our studies of Soviet era literature... so get excited! Also, honor students: we will be meeting for our honor's lunch book club on WEdnesday, APril 1st. Come prepared for a graded discussions (bring questions!).

6th: Due Wednesday-- Your first four rough drafts of your paragraphs for _Holes_ are due in class. Please type them, double-spaced and in Times New Roman.

7/8th Due Wednesday-- Your completed outline with evidence and analysis is due in class. You've had since last Thursday to complete this, so I anticipate that it will be solid and complete. If you are struggling, you should come to tutorials Tuesday. Also, reminder: 30/36 note cards are due in JK's class on Friday with source cards completed CORRECTLY. And remember: you have the first three paragraphs of your rough draft due on Friday for me.
