7/8th Grade: Read _Huck Finn_ actively pages 86 through 104 (chapters 16 and 17). *Remember, you have a vocabulary quiz over lists one and two on Friday, and you should at least be gathering materials for your plot map which is due next Wednesday.
9/10th: Close reading worksheet on "Hrunting": Please find evidence in the text and formulate an arguement (thesis) that suggests why you think the poem has a sword like Hrunting. Is it to promote a character? Create tension? Suggest or support a theme? Why? The sword doesn't help Beowulf in battle, so what is its function? Remember to fill out the worksheet to support and explain your thesis. Please email me with any questions!
