Homework

7/8th Grade (due Wednesday. Yes, we WILL be having our entire class before your field trip): Please ACTIVELY READ the rest of Act One. Please be SURE to note places in the text which you find confusing, so that you can easily share your questions before a possible quiz...

9/10th Grade (Homework Due FRIDAY... NOT Wednesday): 1) Read, actively, chapter four. 2) Select any paragraph that you wish from chapter four and CLOSELY READ IT (mark important diction, imagery, characterization, juxtaposition, figurative language, etc.). 3) Write one paragraph (7 to 10 sentences) in which you argue what the point of your selected paragraph is; why did Fitzgerald write it? What was he intending to acheive? What is the effect of your paragraph? Be sure to create a solid topic sentence before arguing, and be sure to support your claim with evidence (quotes). Even one or two words quotations can be very helpful.

Please email me with any questions...
